Trina Basu was raised in Miami, FL. and has played the violin since she was a little girl. The violin has always been her main outlet for expression and continues to be a major part of her life. With a strong foundation in Western Classical music, Trina has discovered that she can apply her talents to other styles of music. As she continues to play Western Classical, she has also found time to study and perform Indian Classical Music and Jazz. She is a student of Nalini Vinayak, a renound Hindustani sitar player and is currently studying with Federico Britos, a well known violinist in the Latin and Jazz music community.
